The Funkya@Unkya markets at Eungai Creek are a grass roots bi-monthly community market for ‘make it, bake it, sew it, grow it’ producers and creatives as well as the environmentally sustainable concept to ‘reuse, recycle and re-invent’.
The Eungai Community Markets are held on the LAST SUNDAY of every even month (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct) and the 1st SUNDAY of December, weather permitting
The Funkya@Unkya community market started in Feb 2009 and is growing and gaining wide acclaim as a wonderfully enjoyable experience for all concerned.

This is a grass roots bi-monthly community market for ‘make it, bake it, sew it, grow it’ producers and creatives as well as the environmentally sustainable concept to ‘reuse, recycle and re-invent’.
The market offers a diverse range of interesting and inviting stalls and stallholders offer a range of goods such as
- home baked bread, cakes and other goods
- Locally produced packaged goods
- Fresh locally grown and sourced produce
- Hand made arts and crafts
- Hand made wooden furniture
- A small amount of vintage clothing
Each market also features a live musical attraction and often activities for families and kids.
Our Philosophy
The philosophy behind the Funkya @ Unkya market is one that serves the community by providing an interesting, fun and relaxed meeting place for the whole family. The atmosphere of the market is vibrant and blends into the natural surroundings.
The market provides an opportunity for creative local artists, craftspeople, growers and musicians to show, sell and entertain with their special unique talents. The market helps to enhance the local economy and showcase some of this areas finest and funkiest talent. The Mid North Coast is abounding with some extra-ordinary talent and the Unkya market is the place to find that special something or network with local artisans and producers.
Healthy Food
Healthy food, healthy living and fresh produce are an important component of our market ‘philosophy’. We are proud that in our canteen we offer fresh, locally produced, homemade treats, delicious seasonal fruit, scrummy cakes, great coffee as some of the treats to tempt and delight market participants and attendees.
The canteen is the main avenue for the Unkya Reserve Management Committee to raise funds for the upkeep and beautification of the reserve. We are all volunteers working for the greater benefit of this wonderful community.
